R4TLI is an initiative that endeavors to promote research and development in the transport & logistics sector in Sri Lanka and the region that would help diagnose its current issues and identify potential improvements based on scientific evidence. This annual research conference intends to build a platform where the needs of the industry can be discussed and scientific processes developed for rectification of issues can be showcases through research presentations. The inaugural conference last year was attended by nearly 200 participants from xx countries and showcased nearly 50 papers.
In this respect the Society of Transport & Logistics Sri Lanka a member of the East Asia Society for Transport Studies (EASTS) will be organizing the conference with sponsorship of CML Walkers. It will seek endorsements from the East Asia Society for Transport Studies (EASTS), along with government and private sector agencies in Sri Lanka.

All papers submitted will be fully peer reviewed and accepted papers published as Proceedings of the conference in the new R4TLI journal to be launched in August 2017 either as a Special Issue of Conference Proceedings or in a regular issue.
All presenters are encouraged to submit a digital poster which will be printed and displayed at the conference. Since the conference is aimed at industry implementation of research, presenters are advised to use the digital poster to communicate the outputs and outcomes of their research as relevant to industry. These digital posters will also be published as proceedings along with the Extended Abstracts as a separate volume.
Several awards representing the best papers in each category and awards for students are being planned including the R4TLI Best Researcher and R4TLI Young Researcher Award. Awards will be made only for presentation for which full papers have been submitted by the due date. The quality of the extended paper, the presentation, the full paper as well as the digital poster, research process, scientific value, and industry relevance will be considered in the selection.
